Geoff Varrall Geoff Varrall - Trumpet
Leader of the band, plays trumpet and flugel horn and sings when the band aren't listening. Geoff has nearly 30 years experience of function band playing but is also a very capable jazz soloist and improviser with a warm lyrical sound that has delighted countless jazz and good music enthusiasts through his musical career.

Andy Robinson Andy Robinson - Guitar
Andy is one of the most respected jazz guitarists presently working in London, using a seven string guitar to help create the unique sound that makes Fascinating Rhythm swing. Andy is also a superb trombonist, a mean tuba player and if all else fails, has been known to get out his banjo to beat a recalcitrant audience into mute submission. Andy regularly plays in West End shows.

Charles Alexander Charles Alexander - Guitar
In addition to playing guitar with Fascinating Rhythm, Charles is a renowned jazz educator and director of Jazzwize, www.jazzwise.com which amongst many jazz based activities, organises the annual Jamey Aebersold summer school in Richmond, Surrey every summer.
Known to many radio listeners for his series of BBC radio 3 programmes on jazz guitar, Charles is in his own right a very accomplished guitarist and has been teaching and playing in London for over 30 years.

Rog Thomson Rog Thomson - Double Bass
A founder member of Fascinating Rhythm with Andy, Charles and Geoff.
Rog's sensitive double bass playing underpins the Fascinating Rhythm rhythm section. Rog has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all types of music including jazz and a huge eclectic collection of jazz and classical CD's. Colin Crawley Colin Crawley - Saxophone
Colin is Fascinating Rhythm's one man reed section, playing tenor, alto and soprano saxophone. When not playing with Fascinating Rhythm, Colin performs and records with the BBC Radio Big Band, 'The High Llamas', 'Stereolab', 'The London Jazz Orchestra', 'EPJ', and 'Forty Feet Forward'.. He is also an active composer/arranger and has written for both radio and TV in addition to numerous live performances. Colin is featured on various recording sessions for radio / TV and commercial recordings and has appeared at venues including Ronnie Scott's club, the 606 club, the Barbican and Royal Festival Hall amongst many others. He is the winner of the 1994/95 Musicians Union award for 'Most Outstanding Musician' and the 1999 BBC Arranger's award for an original composition as part of the BBC National Big Band competition. www.colincrawley.com

Mark studied at Trinity College of Music, London (1984-5) and became involved with NYJO, Loose Tubes, Brotherhood of Breath, Jazz Warriors, Mike Westbrook, Ian Shaw, John Dankworth & Cleo Laine. On the latin scene - Mark plays regularly with Roberto Pla, La Clave. Other groups and music ventures include the Blowpipes trombone trio, Julian Arguelles Octet, Tim Whitehead, Ingrid Laubrock, Don Rendell and Chris Biscoe. Mark is currently working with Roland Perrin's Blue Planet Orchestra, Louise Elliot, Renato D'Aiello & Phil Lee, Simon Woolf & Andy Panayi, Issie Barrett, Hans Koller, Alan Barnes, Laura Zakian, Denis Colin (Paris), Mbawula & the Manhattans. He also leads his own band, the Mark Bassey Quartet.
